The Blessing Ceremony for the students of X, XII, AS & A Level [2016-17] of JGIS was conducted on Monday (23/01/17) in the Auditorium. The ceremony began with a shlok chanted by Ms. Shipra Mishra which was followed by an inspirational song by the junior students.
Principal, Coordinators and teachers blessed the Board going classes and wished them all the best for their exams. Our Executive Director Mr. M.P.Chandran blessed students and wished that they would uphold the values and morals of JGIS in the years to come.
Students of Grade II were given hands on experience related to the ‘Adaptation of plants in different habitats’. They were taken on a visit to Parimal Garden on 19th January, 2017. It was amazing to see them observe and describe different plants around them.
JG International School organized Annual Sports day on 7th January, 2017 with great enthusiasm and excitement. Around 300 students from class III to XII participated in various races like 50mtrs flat race, 100mtrs, 200mtrs, 400mtrs and relay for the final day events. The highlight of the day was the school relay and teachers games. The Executive Director Mr. M P Chandran, Principal Mrs. Kavita Sharma and the Parents were invited to witness the event and to cheer up the children.
Junior Inter House English Poem Recitation Competition was held on 6th.January,2017. The junior category was divided into two- 1st Category (Grade 1 and 2) and 2nd Category (Grade 3 and 4). Each category had 8 participants. The judges for the competition were Ms. Shilpa Thakkar and Ms. Smita Singh. Scorers were Ms. Bindu Raphael and Ms. Shila Singh.
An educational trip to Vasad Ravines was organized by the school for the
students of grade II on 2nd and 3rd January’2017. “Ravines Eco Park”, is an
ecological and adventure park for nature lovers. There were exciting games and
challenging activities with full of fun, thrill and adventure in the midst of nature.
There was a pottery session, tractor ride and a magic show too. They enjoyed
many activities in the adventure zone, like flying fox and rope Burma bridge.
The Closing Ceremony of the eighth JG Cup Football Tournament was organized on 30th December, 2016. The welcome address was delivered by Master. Rohan (Class XI – ISC). The anchors of the evening were Master. Soham Nayak (A Level) and Ms. Harakh Patel (X – ICSE).
The Opening Ceremony of the eighth JG Cup Football Tournament 2016 was organised by JGIS on 26th December, 2016. This mega event spanning 5 days had 35 teams participating and competing under two categories inter school boys and inter school open boys from all over Gujarat. The Chief Guest of the evening was none other than our Chairman, Shri John Geevargese. The occasion was graced by Executive Director, Mr. M. P. Chandran who is also the Chairperson, Organising Committee of JG Cup Football Tournment, The Director of JG group of colleges, Dr.
We had the school garba on 8th October. The programme began with Aarti by the Chairman, followed by the Executive director, Principal and by other staff members. After the aarti, there were Garba performances by students of different classes and teachers of JGIS. Then the entire JG family which included the management, the staff, students and parents danced to the tunes of garba. The programme continued to till 10:30.Prizes were awarded in different catagories at the end.
The pre - primary section celebrated Moms’ At School on 30/09/2016. Mothers were asked to dress up in Retro Style and come to school. The timings for the event was 10 am to 1 pm. Principal Mrs. Kavita Sharma welcomed the mothers and then programme started with a song sung by children “Maa tu kitni pyaari hai…”Mothers were given an opportunity to experience fun, joy and happiness through different games and dance.
Grandparents are our heritage and an important part of our family. On 21st September 2016 our school celebrated Grandparents’ Day. It was a special day for all those who attended the programme and for us, as it gave us a chance to interact with an age group that is most often, overlooked. The event started by welcoming the grandparents with Hindi and English songs followed by games specially arranged for them. They also had fun dancing with their grandchildren and reliving their childhood.
