Teaching Learning Workshop for Parents of Pre-Primary Section - 2017

The Teaching Learning Practices Workshop for the Parents of Pre-Primary Section was held on 29th July, 2017 by the Principal, Coordinator and the teachers of Pre Primary section in the school auditorium. Through a series of hands on activities parents learnt about the teaching and learning practices followed in the Pre-Primary section. This workshop also shed light on the various teaching aids used in the class to strengthen the concepts. Parents gave positive feedback and expressed desire for more such sessions.

Workshop on Team Building - 2017

Our Principal, Ms. Kavita Sharma conducted a workshop on Team Building for the Administrative and Academic staff members of JGIS on 25th July, 2017. The highlight of the workshop was fun activities that helped the teachers to see each other in a different light and that too in a different setting. The workshop that aimed at improving collaboration among team members revolved around building skills like communication, problem-solving and conflict resolution.

Teaching Learning Workshop for Parents of Classes I & II - 2017

An engaging and informative workshop for parents of classes I & II was organized on 22nd July, 2017 by the Principal and a team of teachers of classes I and II in the school auditorium. Through a series of hands on activities parents learnt about the teaching and learning practices followed in the Holding section.This workshop also shed light on the various teaching aids used in the class to strengthen the concepts and how some of it can be easily designed at home. Parents gave positive feedback and expressed desire for more such sessions.

Poems Out Loud (Inter School Recitation Competition) - 2017

JGIS organized ‘Poems Out Loud 2017-18’- Inter-school Poetry Recitation Competition on 20th July, 2017. 29 reputed schools of Ahmedabad participated in this competition. The competition was held in three categories: (a) Sub-junior: grades 4-5, (b) Junior: grades 6-7 and (c) Senior: 8-9. The Judges were Mr. Harish Iyer, Ms. Rupa Ramamurthy, Ms. Ketki Modi, Ms. Ankita Dave and Mr. Shorab Negi.

Inter House Chess Competition - 2017

The Inter house Chess Competition was held from 10th July, 2017 to 14th July, 2017. The competition was organized in two groups: Junior & Senior.   Three students from each house were selected. Each house members competed with all the other houses with the Swiss (League) system.  The participants showed great enthusiasm and thoroughly enjoyed & focused while playing the matches. The winning participants made their houses proud and also enabled them to grab some house points.

Field Trip to Lothal (Grade VI ) - 2017

A visit here is truly an out of the world experience and helps you reflect how the Indus Valley Civilization thrived here thousands of years ago. Original artefacts excavated from the site next door are displayed in the Lothal Archaeological Museum. The major attractions in Lothal are the vast ruins of the ancient city. The most important are the sites of the ancient dockyard, the lower town, the bead factory, the warehouses, and the drainage system.

Visit to Traffic Park (Grade II) - 2017

 Trips and excursions are an integral part of the curriculum. To create awareness amongst children, the students of Grade II visited the Children Traffic Park on July 3, 2017 as an extended learning of Communication unit. Wherein they learnt the rules and regulation to be followed on the road to become better citizen. Children took part in the interactive session and answered various questions that were asked.

Election for Head Boy & Head Girl - 2017

Election is an organized process through which the heads of a democratic country are elected. It gives the people the most important political right- Right to vote. At JGIS, this year too we elected the Head Boy and the Head Girl through this procedure. We conducted a mock election. The purpose of it was to give the children a ‘Hands on’ experience on the conduction of election.  We followed the same procedures as is followed in the actual election.
