English Play by Shakespeare - Macbeth
In a remarkable fusion of education and theatre, the talented students of JGIS from classes IX to XII transformed the JG Auditorium into a world of ambition, prophecy and moral turmoil on 23rd August, 2025, with their gripping one-act adaptation of William Shakespeare’s classic tragedy “Macbeth.”
As part of the English Literature curriculum, the performance provided students with an immersive opportunity to engage with Shakespeare’s work while nurturing their creativity, confidence, and collaborative skills. The young actors’ powerful portrayals brought Shakespeare’s complex characters and intricate plots to life, captivating the audience and enriching their understanding of this classic works.
The performance was graced by the Chairman of Asia Charitable Trust, trustees, members of the Managing Committee of ACT, esteemed delegates, parents and well-wishers. The distinguished audience which included renowned medical professionals and theatre artists praised the student’s efforts and the school’s commitment to integrating arts into education.
This memorable performance stands as an inspiring example of the power of live theatre in education and the enduring relevance of Shakespearean play.
