Poems Out Loud (Inter School Recitation Competition) - 2017

JGIS organized ‘Poems Out Loud 2017-18’- Inter-school Poetry Recitation Competition on 20th July, 2017. 29 reputed schools of Ahmedabad participated in this competition. The competition was held in three categories: (a) Sub-junior: grades 4-5, (b) Junior: grades 6-7 and (c) Senior: 8-9. The Judges were Mr. Harish Iyer, Ms. Rupa Ramamurthy, Ms. Ketki Modi, Ms. Ankita Dave and Mr. Shorab Negi.

In the Sub-junior category, Rajvi Maniar of Maharaja Agrasen Vidyalaya won the third prize; Heer Dave of Anand Niketan, Shilaj won the second prize; the first prize was bagged by Aditya Padhye of JG International School.

In the junior category, Muneso Percy of Divine Child International School won the third prize; Urshita Gajjar of ASIA English School won the second prize; the first prize was bagged by Aarnav Rao of Euro School.

In the senior category, Ishrat Contractor of St. Kabir, Navrangpura won the third prize; Vedika Khanna of St. Kabir School, Drive-in, (New) won the second prize; the first prize was bagged by Shivani Shankar of JG International School.

There were two special awards: Dhyaani Parikh of St. Kabir (Drive in Old) won the award for reciting the best written self-composed poem whereas Rajvi Maniar of Maharaja Agrasen Vidyalaya won the award for the best vocal quality.

JG International School won the Overall Champion’s Trophy. But as JG International School was the host school, the trophy was given away to the Runners’ Up School, namely, St. Kabir School, Drive-in (New).
