Trip to Jim Corbett National Park (Class – VII) – 2023

Excursions and Tours form an important part of educative experience. Not only do the students discover new places but also learn self-reliance and taking care of themselves. As a part of this experience, an excursion to the famous Jim Corbett National Park was organized from 1st October to 7th October, 2023.

1st and 2nd October 2023

The students and teachers started for the trip and reached Delhi the next day. We travelled to Winsome Resort - Nainital situated at the periphery of the National Park.. The student relaxed in the resort’s swimming pool. In the evening, high tea was served along with some live music.

3rd October 2023

After breakfast the students proceeded to visit the Jim Corbett Museum at Kaladhungi. The students keenly looked at old pictures, paintings, and the taxidermy specimens of animals on display. The group then went for a village trail followed by a cultural programme where authentic local village food was served. The day ended on a high note with the musical night.

4th October 2023

The students woke up ready to embark on the Jungle safari. Travelling in a convoy of jeeps, the students were excited to see the verdant forests all around. The excitement was palpable when the students could observe a herd of deer which was a wonderful experience of driving through the forest as they sighted different species of animals and explored the various trails of the park. After having lunch, the group also visited the Garjia temple which is uniquely positioned on top of a big rock in the middle of River Kosi.

5th October 2023

The group left for Nainital and were amazed looking at the beauty of the nature. The students were taken to Sherwood College followed by the visit to Naini Lake and the street shopping at Mall Road. All the students then returned to the resort and spent their evening with high tea and some music.

6th October 2023

At last the group started return journey for Ahmedabad, thus bringing these wondrous days to a glorious end.

Overall, it was a beautiful excursion which helped the students appreciate nature and the need to preserve our forests and animals living therein. Travelling together for this trip not only helped to bring the spirit of camaraderie and teamwork to the fore but also connected the children to nature and wildlife.
