J G international school hosted its first Literary week from [05/02/18 – 09/02/18]. Students from classes I – VI enthralled the audience by bringing to life the classics that they had read during the year-“The Cat in the Hat” by class I, “The Jungle Book by class II, The Wizard of Oz by class IV, “Great Expectations” by class V, “ Bond with Nature” by class VI. The excitement of the students grew each day when they were quizzed on “Charlie and the Chocolate factory ” read by class III.

We the students of JG International school are enthused to share with you that the JGIS  is celebrating its Literary Fest.

This week long celebration will begin from 5^th of February ,2018 and will conclude on the  9^th of February, 2018. Students of classes I –VI will bring to life each day the novels that they have read in the year.

The students of Grade IV Ruby showcased a class presentation on the immune system of our body. It was a short dramatic performance related to science which conveyed a strong message. It had also the elements of music and dance. The students demonstrated the immune response of our body towards invading pathogens like bacteria or virus through personification. It gave an insight on how the body fights diseases and the role of immune system in maintaining proper health.

On February 2^nd, 2018, the students of Class XI (Einstein) performed a skit on ‘Wars’ in the auditorium. Strong messages were conveyed on to the audience through this play, which were, wars are chaotic and irrelevant. Not only does a soldier suffer but also his near and dear ones do. Soldiers are nothing but mere puppets at the hands of the warmongers. Also, that each individual should have the freedom to choose his/her own career and choices can never be forced. The skit was well appreciated by the audience.

“Weave the magic of happiness” as there is no key to happiness and the door to happiness is always open. The students of Class III Water enlightened everyone with their simple and beautiful thoughts through a skit and dance performance. Everyone reflected that they do not value the things which almighty has given them and this leads to unhappiness. There will always be someone who will have more or less than you have. We should be happy with what we have in our life.

Progress is impossible without change, those who have a drive for change can only bring a significant change in anything. Students of Class-III Sky put up a presentation on the topic “Change Your Ways” through a skit and dance. A very valuable message was conveyed; we can change our destructive actions and create a green environment in the community.  A change within oneself can bring a great change in others too.  The students demonstrated their communication skills with great confidence.

The blessing ceremony was conducted on 29^th January, 2018 for the students appearing for the Board Examinations 2018. The ceremony began with the recital of a Sanskrit shlok, followed by the rendition of a prayer song  by the school choir to invoke  the blessings of God. The teachers teaching these classes blessed the students on this auspicious occasion and also gave them valuable guidance for success in examination.  Our Principal    Ms.

69^th Republic Day was celebrated in JGIS premises on 26^th January, 2018. The programme began with welcoming the guest viz. honourable Chairman, Shri John Geevargese, President ASIA,  Mr. K.L.N. Sastri, Secretary, Mr. K.P.M Nair, Trustee and Executive Director Mr. M. P.Chandran, other trustees, members of managing committee followed by flag hoisting. The cultural program began with a patriotic song by schools ‘choir students followed by two dance performances as a beautiful expression and dedication to our nation.

Vasant Panchami , the auspicious festival  associated with goddess Saraswati, the deity of learning, arts and music was celebrated at JGIS on 22^nd January, 2018 in the auditorium. Students of grade 3 and 4 presented a prayer song. Teachers and Students joined the Aarti to seek the blessings from the deity.

JGIS organized the Closing Ceremony of JG Model United Nations Conference in the school auditorium on 21^st January, 2018. After a short thank you speech by the Principal of the host school, Ms. Kavita Sharma, the anchor invited on stage, the Executive Board members of the five simulated committees for the much-awaited moment – the Award Ceremony. They thanked the school for organizing such an event of this magnitude and congratulated the organizing committee for successfully hosting MUN.

‘Freedom is hammered out on the anvil of discussion, dissent and debate’ -Hubert Humphrey. We at JGIS believe in inculcating a strong set of skills in research, public speaking and team work. We aim to transform our learners into concerned global citizens who make a significant change in the society. With this aim in mind, JGIS decided to host its first edition of JG Model United Nations Conference. The event is inaugurated with a gathering of over 250 delegates on 20^th and 21^st January, 2018.

An educational trip was organized to Kankaria zoo on 19^thJanuary, 2018, Friday for students of grade I as a part of EVS unit “Animals”. It was an experiential learning where in the children got acquainted with different types of animals . Children observed and explored various kinds of animals like mammals, reptiles, birds, etc. and their characteristics. They also observed a special section of nocturnal animals and was amazed. It was a wonderful experience for the children.

Living in Ahmedabad, Ramdev Spices and snacks is name we are very familiar with, and today students of class 11 ISC Commerce and Humanities and IBDP-1 were given the opportunity to visit the office and factory of Ramdev Snacks! Here, they witnessed the functioning of the administrative and production units of the company. The purpose of the visit was to develop a better and more practical understanding of economics and business related concepts. This trip surely served the purpose.

An Inter House Junior English Poem Recitation Competition was organized on 5^th January, 2018 in school auditorium for two categories, first category-Classes I and II and second category-Classes III and IV. This activity was organized to explore and encourage the speaking skills and confidence in children. It inspired children to come forward and recite on stage. The judgment was made by two of the judges Ms. Steffi Thomas and Ms. Mitisha Lalwani.
