JG International School celebrated 78^th Independence Day of India with great fervour and zeal. The occasion commenced with a warm welcome address by the esteemed Principal, Dr. Kavita Sharma, setting the tone for the patriotic fervor. The national flag was hoisted by Dr. M P Chandran, Chairman of the Asia Charitable Trust, as students along with the attendees stood in unity, echoing the national anthem.

The Head Girl and the Head Boy delivered stirring speeches, emphasizing the nation's journey and the importance of responsible citizenship.

The Inter House English Poem Recitation Competition was held on 9^th August, 2024 comprising the students of classes I and II. For the competition, the participants were divided into two categories-

Group A- Classes I

Group B- Classes II

JG International School took initiative to introduce Kalaripayattu, an ancient Indian martial art from Kerala and conducted a 3-day workshop to raise awareness about this ancient practice, in gaining mastery over the body and mind.

The Inter House English Declamation Competition held for classes VI to VIII on 2^nd August, 2024, was a vibrant celebration of oratory skills and literary appreciation. The event aimed to provide a platform for participants to showcase their eloquence, interpretation, and expressive abilities.

Participants were required to deliver a declamation of a pre-selected literary piece. Each performance was judged based on the following criteria:

We are delighted to share that JG International School achieved a remarkable victory in the North West Region (NWR) Football Tournament 2024, hosted by SGVP International School in Ahmedabad on 31^st July, 2024. This tournament brought together the region's top schools, exhibiting a high level of skill and sportsmanship.

The Inter house Hindi Elocution Competition for two categories was held on 26^th July, 2024. First category comprising students of classes VI and VII. Similarly, second category consisting of students from classes VIII and IX.

The Judges for the competition were Ms. Neeti Bhatt and Ms. Archana Chaurasia.

There were 8 participants in each category and at the end the judges declared the results.

The JG Campus of Excellence was filled with excitement as JG International School, Ahmedabad, India in collaboration with Keimei Gakuin High School, Kobe, Japan launched their pioneering Indo-Japanese Nursery School named “Sakura” on 25^th July, 2024. This event signifies a major milestone in educational partnerships, blending the cultural and educational traditions of India and Japan.

JG International School hosted Swadha-The JGIS Fest on 20^th July, 2024, an exhilarating inter-school literary and sports competition that brought together around 500 students from 21 esteemed schools across Ahmedabad. This fest featured a variety of events held in Junior and Senior categories, highlighting the students' creativity and abilities.

JGIS conducted a fire mock drill on 18^th July, 2024 with an objective to educate students and staff about emergency evacuation procedures.

The drill commenced with the fire alarm sound and keeping in view all the safety measures, the students and staff were successfully evacuated to the designated area on the school grounds.

JGMUN 5.0 hosted on 13^th and 14^th of July 2024, was an event that will be embedded in all the delegates’ minds forever, especially JGIS students.

The English Poem Recitation Competition was held on 12^th July 2024. The students of classes III to VIII were the participants as well as audience for the competition. For the competition, the participants were divided into two categories-

Group A- Classes III, IV and V

Group B- Classes VI, VII and VIII

Six students were selected from each house- Three students from group A while the other three from group B category. There were twenty four participants in all.

JG International School organized the Investiture Ceremony on 5^th July, 2024 to bestow the responsibilities on the newly elected members of its Students’ Council for the academic year 2024-25. The ceremony was presided over by the Chairman, Dr. M.P. Chandran, the Principal, Dr. Kavita Sharma, Head- Administration and HR, Dr. Rekha Anil and Manager, Parent Relation and Academics, Ms. Rema Nair.

JG International School joyfully celebrated its 20^th birthday on Friday, 21^st June, 2024. The festivities commenced with ceremonial lighting of the lamp, symbolizing the guiding light of knowledge. This was followed by rendition of JG Anthem filling the atmosphere with pride and unity. The school choir further elevated the spirits with a melodious song followed by a graceful dance by the students.

A team of 21 Universities from U.S. and Hong Kong visited our school on 4th April, 2024. They interacted with the students of classes IX to XII and explained about the various under graduate and graduate programs that they offer. They also briefed about the pre-requisites and other eligibility criteria required by them. Besides this, they made the students aware of the benefits and scholarships that their institutions provide so that they are able to make informed career decisions.

The Graduation Ceremony is a tradition of saying farewell to not just adolescence, but also to an institution that has been a home to students for years; faculty members akin to family members who have helped groom and mentor the students for close to a decade. A lot has changed over the years but what hasn’t changed is the importance and significance of the event as a landmark moment in a young adult’s academic life.
