Celebrations

Christmas was celebrated in a joyful way at JGIS on 20^th December 2017. The portico was decorated with Christmas tree and crib.   It was organized in the Auditorium started with the school prayer followed by the songs by the students then the teachers sung the choir song wishing them happy Christmas and the program ended with distribution of toffees by the Santa Claus. The children were very happy after attending the Christmas celebrations.   

The Annual Garba of JGIS was held on 23^rd October 2017. The event began with offering prayers to the Diety and performing  Aarti by our Honourable chairman Shri John Gee Vergheese and Executive Director Mr. M. P. Chandran.  Col. Rahul Sharma, Director ASIA Charitable Trust, other trustees too graced the occasion. The event saw various performances  by students and staff members, giving various glimpses of traditional as well as modern form of garba.

Grandparents are a delightful blend of laughter, caring deeds, wonderful stories and love. To show the love and respect towards the grandparents, The Pre Primary celebrated Gandparents’ Day on 19/09/2017 in the school auditorium. Children welcomed the grandparents with tikka on their forehead and performed their aarti. Principal Ma’am Ms. Kavita Sharma welcomed them. Urva of Sr. KG also welcomed the grandparents on behalf of all the children. A few children of Jr. KG and Sr.

JGIS invited parents of grade I-IV for the event “ MOMS and DADS at School” on 12^th Sep’ 2017 . The parents were given a traditional welcome by applying tilak followed by group song sung by the students.  To make sure that the parents relive their childhood, various games were organized which they played and revived their school and college days. To encourage the bonding between parents and child, some spectacular collaborative classroom activities were conducted.

Teachers’ Day was celebrated on 5^th September, 2017. The Principal, Ms. Kavita Sharma, Manager Admin, Ms. Rekha Anil and Parent Relation Officer, Ms. Rema Nair attended the event. Students of classes V to XII also witnessed the programme. The day began with the morning assembly conducted by the students. All the teachers and the admin staff were given different tags. Later, all the students who became teachers went in their respective classes to teach. The afternoon session, Students of classes V to XII performed a number of dances.

Onam was celebrated in JGIS on 1^st September 2017. The portico was decorated with colourful flowers.  The staff and students presented a special programme highlighting the culture and tradition of Kerala in the form of a dance drama which passed on the message of national integration and cultural diversity to the audience. The traditional Kaikottokkali, vallamkali, pulikali were also the part of the programme. Principal and other staff members too witnessed the programme. Executive Director Mr. M.P. Chandran greeted the staff and students.

Pre Primary Fancy Dress Show was held on Thursday, 31/08/2017 at 10.30 am. It was held in the school auditorium. The theme of the show was Icons and Idols. The Parents dressed the children very creatively and innovatively. Children of Nursery were dressed as famous sports personalities. Children of Jr.KG were dressed as inventors. The Jr.KG Sunflower class children were dressed as famous musicians, actors, dancers, singers and artistes. Sr KG Marigold and Jasmine dressed as leaders, politicians and freedom fighters.

Independence Day was celebrated with great fervor on 15^th August, 2017. The theme for the day was ‘Dastan e KargiI’. The programme was initiated with a welcome speech by the Principal Ms. Kavita Sharma. The national flag was hoisted by the chairman of our school followed by the National Anthem. Then everyone proceeded to the auditorium and we had our theme performed there by a group of academic, non-academic staff and students.

The annual farewell for the twelfth grade students was organized on 25th April, 2017. It was a fun filled evening where emotions were at their peak. The function began at 5 p.m. when the seniors entered and were welcomed with beautiful brooches. The formal session began at 6:00 p.m. in the auditorium. The programme began with the giving away of tags to the seniors which was followed by a Presentation that revolved around the seniors' best moments in school. After the final round of tags, Ms. Kavita Sharma, Principal gave some final words of advice to the seniors.

The Graduation Ceremony of Sr. KG was held on Wednesday 22/03/2017 at 10.30 a.m. 55 students of batch 2016-17 were graduated from Pre Primary to Primary Level. Graduation Certificates were given out to children by the Chief Guests one by one. The Chief Guests for the event were our very own Head boy Soham Nayak, Head Girl Tulsi Patel and Sports Captain Dhruv Gangwal. Children wore black graduation Capes and Hats. The ceremony was attended by Parents of the children of Sr.KG. The event was also attended by our Executive Director Mr. M P Chandran.
